Dr. David Kinman began his education as a vocal performance major and then attained a Bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Indiana University and a Masters degree in special education and crisis intervention.
This allowed him to pursue his passion for working with at-risk youth as an Elementary, Middle, and High School special education instructor. During this time he also served as a golf coach, and taught classes in arts and humanities and continued to perform and write music. During these foundational days he gained insight into the daily lives of at-risk students from all walks of life.
Eventually the love of learning and desire to serve students in a larger capacity pushed him to earn an EdS then EdD in educational leadership. He has presented at many Positive Behavior Support Conferences and provided school-wide training for students, teachers, and district leaders in social skills development, positive behavior intervention, and crisis intervention.
Facilitating success in youth has been a focus of his career and personal life for 35 years. Dr. David Kinman is known for littering in his musical talent and sarcastic sense of humor to create the example of a welcome culture and climate.
